42 years old for me...but in my mind I'm still 21, does that count?

Most of my customers that use Twitter are in the 35-45 year old range. My friends who use Twitter are in the exact same age range. This could be because I market to this age group. I've never paid much attention to the age of people using Twitter. Now I'm very curious.

What a great idea! I too find that Twitter users are 30-50 years old. I'm a high school teacher, and the vast majority of my students can't see the point of Twitter. They think it's just a public Facebook status.

You can read more about my Twitter experience here: http://lgesin.wordpress.com

Well the majority of users seem to be between 26 and 45--but there are lots of us in other age categories. BTW I th;ink Leora's comments above are exceedingly agist and patronizing. I know people in their sixties and seventies who have personal blogs are active on Digg, Stumbleupon and other social media and manage to navigate Facebook without " somebody setting them up." Old does not equal stupid.

Leora, are you saying that anyone older than 50 is not technically up to speed to figure out twitter?
Did you ever think that just maybe, they like to communicate in person, mail, email or on the phone and in full sentences? They may not find twitter very relevant?
Or that the younger people who develop these apps purposely do not market to anyone not in their group and discriminate against the "older" crowd?
The old people I know don't have a difficult time in the fast paced twitter zone, they just like to speak in complete sentences and write using the correct grammar and spelling.
Interesting how you can lump "most" (your word) of any age, race or religious group into 1 bucket.

Most older people that I know (I'm talking 60s and up) have a very hard time with the fast paced nature of Twitter. They can do Facebook up to a certain point. If someone sets them up with a blog and they love to write or photograph, they can do that. But Twitter seems to be for 26 - 50 year olds, as your poll is showing.
